Experience the mountain for yourself

This past Saturday, we welcomed guests to Spring Mountain Vineyard to enjoy “A Stroll Through Time.” This event celebrated the estate's rich history and our newly restored botanical gardens, offering a perfect blend of vintage charm and exquisite wines.

Beautiful weather and a stunning setting created the perfect backdrop for this elegant garden party. Guests were greeted with a glass of champagne as they strolled through the lush botanical gardens, artfully designed by renowned landscape architect firm Arcadia Studios. Festivities centered on the back lawn of the historic Miravalle estate, where florals from Melody Raye reflected the colorful abundance of summer. Ancient bonsai trees–some over 200 years old– were also displayed by Lotus Bonsai Nursery & Gardens, lending a sense of time and beauty.

Chef Rafael Molina crafted a delicious seasonal menu with exceptional pairings such as fresh seafood and caviar with the 2023 Estate Sauvignon Blanc, a fettuccini and pesto pasta alongside our 140th Anniversary Cabernet Franc, and rotisserie sliders with golden french fries, perfectly paired with the 2021 Oriri Cabernet Sauvignon. For a sweet finish, Roman Holiday Gelato from St. Helena hand-churned an exclusive Estate Cabernet Blackberry sorbet, in addition to other classic flavors. As the sun set, Johnny's Donut Truck arrived, providing a sweet end to a perfect evening.

The event was alive with the jazz sounds of Hella Fitzgerald from San Francisco, while a croquet tournament, led by Meadowood's Michael McDonnel, and nostalgic badminton games offered a bit of friendly competition. Guests also enjoyed a rare tasting of library wines, including a 1980 Cabernet and a 3L bottle of the 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon. But the pre-release tasting of our 140th Anniversary Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc provided the highlight of the evening.

It was a truly unforgettable night – with a special congratulations to Kelly Carter, Bob Van Dyke, and Enoch Shully who were crowned the best-dressed of the night and took home a bottle of the 1999 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon.
